Meet Sam Bernstein, Gastric Bypass Patient

My experience at Community Hospital of Long Beach, when I stayed there in March of 2008 for my gastric bypass, was incredibly positive. My doctors at the NEW Program in Newport Beach, CA, Justin Braverman, MD and Brian Quebbeman, MD, had told me it would be terrific, and they were right. During my night there I quite literally had to ring every fifteen minutes for help with going to the bathroom and taking walks. Not only did someone from the nurse's station come quickly every single time, but with care that was really personal and loving, and they never seemed exasperated with me for calling so often. I live a block away from Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles, and I also took a look at the bariatric surgery program there. I am so happy I chose to travel the distance, to stay at your hospital, and to have been under the care of the NEW Program. I believe it made all the difference to my success at losing 100 pounds in just over seven months.
