Meet George
Age: 30 years -The N.E.W. Program Gastric Bypass Patient
In November 2007, George weighed 475 pounds and was struggling with a growing list of health problems, including hypertension, sleep apnea and he was pre-diabetic. Throughout his life, George was overweight and had been on countless diets. You name the diet, George had tried it! He had success but each time the weight came back and he got heavier and heavier.
George than stepped into high gear and began his research of the recommended programs and surgeons. One of the recommended programs, stood out for its comprehensiveness and quality, The N.E.W. Program. George selected Dr. Brian Quebbemann and Dr. Justin Braverman of The N.E.W. Program for his surgical weight loss.
After speaking with the Bariatric Counselors at The N.E.W. Program at Community Hospital of Long Beach and scheduling a consultation with Dr. Quebbemann and his bariatric team, George scheduled his pre-operative testing and gastric bypass surgery. In November 2007, George underwent gastric bypass surgery at Community Hospital of Long Beach. George decided on gastric bypass instead of the gastric banding procedure due to the large volume of weight he had to lose. He stayed one night in the hospital and went home to begin his new life. With renewed energy he pursue his goal of starting a Hip Hop and Rock ‘N Roll Magazine. George is now 205+ pounds lighter and Editor in Chief of his magazine! To see and hear George.
