Once you have completed the necessary medical testing and have been approved for a surgical weight loss procedure, you will be scheduled for your laparoscopic procedure at Community Hospital of Long Beach in Long Beach, CA. The NEW Program staff is happy to assist you with your travel plans from helping you book a low cost fare from one of three convenient airports, arranging for limousine or town car to bring you to your consultation and procedure, to suggesting local sites to visit. Most of our patients book their first visit for a stay of three days to complete their consultation with our medical team, bariatric surgeons, pre-operative testing and a tour of Community Hospital of Long Beach where you will receive your surgical weight loss procedure. If you prefer, we can advise you of the pre-operative tests and you can return home to have them completed with your primary care doctor. We can be in contact with your physician so that care is coordinated.

Dr. Brian Quebbemann, Medical Director, and Community Hospital of Long Beach have prepared a “Cash Package” to assist those patients without insurance coverage for bariatric surgery who elect to self-pay. The cost of surgical weight loss procedures quoted below is your complete cost for medical, surgical and psychological examinations, surgeon’s and anesthesiologist fees, hospital operating room and one night stay (if needed), pre and post-operative nutritional supplies and our comprehensive LifeStyle Management program.

The NEW Program Cash (self-pay) Package includes:
- Medical consultation (dedicated internal medicine physicians specializing in bariatric medicine)
- Surgical consultation (consultation with Drs. Quebbemann or Braverman)
- Psychological consultation (dedicated psychologist specializing in bariatric patients)
- Surgeon fees
- Anesthesiologist fee
- Hospital surgical fee (surgical suite at Community Hospital of Long Beach)
- Overnight hospital stay for gastric bypass, gastric sleeve and StomaphyX patients*
- Preoperative and postoperative nutritional supplies - a 2 week supply for pre op and a 4 week supply for post op

*For gastric banding patients that require an overnight stay, the hospital room charge is $700.00. The costs for laboratory and/or diagnostic tests required by The NEW Program physicians and/or surgeons are NOT included. Many of these tests can be secured from your primary care physicians.
Dr. Quebbemann, Medical Director developed the LifeStyle Management Program with the understanding that surgical weight loss patients require the necessary education, tools, and coaching to achieve lifelong success. Experts in the field of nutrition, psychology, medical weight loss and exercise lead the NEW Lifestyle Management Program. This one-of-a-kind program is designed to help each individual patient achieve their own unique lifestyle goals.

Prices may vary with certain medical conditions that require additional preoperative testing, specialist consultations, or postoperative treatment. In some cases, prices may vary for patients with specific medical conditions or a history of other abdominal surgeries.
